SABS 1973-1:2024 Certification for Our Distributor in South Africa
We are proud to announce that our South African partner and distributor, Modulêr Electrical Assemblies, has been awarded
the SABS license.
A SABS license refers to a certification issued by the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS), South Africa’s national
standardisation authority. The certificate confirms that a product, system, or service complies with relevant national standards.
With the SABS certification, Modulêr Electrical Assemblies can demonstrate that the purpose built low-voltage assemblies,
constructed with the Logstrup modular system, meet and exceed these high standards.
Why is SABS Certification Important for Customers?
To obtain an SABS certification, a thorough evaluation is conducted, which includes testing products, inspecting facilities, and
reviewing documentation to ensure the company meets the required standards. Once the certification is granted, SABS conducts
periodic inspections and tests to ensure that the standards are consistently met.
For Southern African customers, the SABS logo and certification serves as a guarantee and mark of quality that they are
purchasing a product that meets and exceeds stringent national and international regulations and standards for quality, safety,
and performance.

Modulêr Electrical Assemblies manufactures and supplies panels for some of the most demanding industries and environments
in the African market, where the quality of LV products can vary significantly, it is vital to provide this assurance to customers.
Additionally, Licensed Assembly Manufacturers (panel builders) in South Africa are beginning to require SABS certification for
low-voltage (LV) products. With this certification, Modulêr Electrical Assemblies can prove that they deliver products that meet and
exceed the specified quality standards, and are manufactured under controlled conditions.

Technical specification about SABS certification
A SABS 1973-1:2024 license is based on SANS/IEC 61439-1Ed3 and SANS/IEC 61439-2Ed3. The SANS standards align with
international standards, including the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) system, often with minor local
modifications or additional requirements tailored to the South African market.

located in the Atlantis Special Economic Zone (ASEZ) in Cape Town, South Africa.
Modulêr Electrical Assemblies provides assistance in the form of training and technical assistance to panel builders that want to
apply for this mark scheme. It is only offered to Logstrup certified Panel builders.
