General Questions

What is LogCad?

LogCad is specially developed for you to make it possible to design, draw and calculate projects made from the Logstrup Modular System. You can design and calculate the size and number of switchboard panels needed for your project.

The Logstrup Modular System allows for almost any configuration and any size such as Motor Control Centres (MCC), Main Distribution Switchboards, Control Panels in fixed or withdrawable design and integrated container solutions to name a few.

When you use LogCad, you will get the full parts list and price of your project. With our Catalogue and Assembly Manual available online, you can easily check parts numbers.

How do I download LogCad?

To download LogCad software you have to log in to our website. This is only possible for Logstrup customers and global partners. If you do not have an account, you need to register for one. When you have entered in all your details, Logstrup will manually review and approve your account if you are a partner/customer.

How does LogCad differ from BricsCAD or AutoCAD?

LogCad is a software specially designed by Logstrup. All options available in LogCad are based on the Logstrup Modular System and is thus a customised design software. LogCad is an addon which you can use in either BricsCAD, AutoCAD, GStarCAD or ZWCAD.

What CAD programs can LogCad be used in?

We test our software in BricsCAD and AutoCAD. You may be able to use other CAD programs such as GstarCAD or ZWCAD, however we do not test our LogCad in any other than BrisCAD and AutoCAD.

I don't know how to use LogCad. Can you help?

Our dedicated support team have many years of experience with LogCad. They can help you with download, installation and how to get started. We also invite our partners to join our Academy that is usually taking place three times every year.

The Logstrup Academy is an intense design training boot camp that leaves you with all the knowledge and tools you need to become an advance LogCad user. During the Academy, we will teach you how to design switchboard panels in LogCad. We will look into all the possibilities the Logstrup Modular System offers. You will learn how to design a switchboard panel entirely, how to calculate the project, how to check the parts list and how to order the Logstrup switchboard panel.

How do I update LogCad?

You find the newest updates under Software on our resources page. The installation package will make sure to update LogCad and LogCalc automatically whenever changes are made to the software.

What is LogCalc?

LogCalc is a part of LogCad. LogCalc lets you calculate your Logstrup parts list including copper busbars. This way, your parts list and project calculation is up-to-date with Logstrup prices.

How do I download LogCalc?

You can find LogCalc under our downloads. However, you have to log in to our website to find it. This is only possible for Logstrup customers and global partners. If you do not have an account, you need to register for one. When you have entered in all your details, Logstrup will manually review and approve your account if you are a partner/customer.

What is your delivery time?

When you place an order with us, we will be able to determine a delivery date. The delivery time will always depend on the size of your project. We carry a large stock of standard parts and will usually be able to deliver these upon request. However, some parts of your project may need customization which will prolong the process. Your designated Area Sales Manager or Project Engineer will usually be able to tell you when you can expect delivery.

What material is your framework made of?

Our framework is made of Aluzinc.

What is Aluzinc?

Aluzinc is a type of galvanized steel that is formed from Aluminium (55%), Zinc (43,4%) and Silicon (1.6%). It is incredibly corrosion and rust resistant and is twice as hard as regular galvanized steel due to its unique composition. It is also an environmentally friendly product as it is 100% recyclable.

Do you make your own framework?

Yes! The majority of our products are made in our factory at our headquarters in Denmark, or at our production facility in Ireland.

Where do you get your busbars from?

We make them ourselves. In early 2021 we installed a new EHRT machine at our production facility in Denmark (you can see a video of it here). This machine now produces most of our busbars. We also have a production facility in Ireland that produces busbars.

What is a modular system?

A modular system is a scalable option in all three directions (X,Y,Z). At Logstrup our modular measurements are 190 mm, which equals one module. You can then create frameworks from 1x1x1 module to 12x12x12 module.

What colours does your modular system come in?

You can get our modular system in almost any colour you can think of as our doors and cladding are available in all RAL-colours.

Do you offer complete assembled switchboards?

Yes we do. You can read more about our complete assembled switchboard solutions here.

Where do you stand concerning sustainability?

We think of sustainability as a great innovation opportunity, and we know that the steps we take today will impact tomorrow’s future. Therefore, taking care of the environment while still producing high-quality products is of utmost importance to us. We have two certifications with focus on quality and the environment: ISO9001 and ISO14001. Sustainability is of course much more than that. Some of the initatives we have implemented at our production facility in Denmark is fx our focus on recycling waste properly and rinsing water in a closed system that reuse the water instead of discharging large quantities of water and using recyclable packing materials, to name a few.

Do you use renewable energy?

We believe that we need to harness energy in a sustainable manner that does not cause harm to our planet. Therefore, increasing the global percentage of renewable energy is something that we at Logstrup wish to contribute to. Consequently, we have signed a Climate Partnership with the energy supplier, Ørsted A/S, by which we will consume renewable energy and hence reduce our carbon footprint.

Are you ISO14001 (Environmental Management Systems) certified?

We have been certified since 2007. Being ISO14001 certified entails an ongoing systematic follow-up on all environmental parameters, especially energy consumption and waste management.

Which steps do you take to reduce the consumption of resources?

We focus on reducing our use of natural resources and impact on the environment right from the initial contact with the customer until the product is finished. In particular, this means we have incorporated an environmental mindset in our product design by for instance eliminating the welding of the doors. Finally we strive to motivate and train our employees to carry out their duties in an environmentally correct manner.

Do I have to use paint?

Due to the special surface of the Aluzinc coating, our framework has a self-healing ability that makes it very resistant towards rust and corrosion, which is why you do not need to use paint as protection and can as such make it a ‘greener’ option by choosing not to paint. However, if you for other reasons want your switchboard painted we of course offer many different colors. It is completely up to you.

What are the advantages of not painting my panels?

We offer our switchboards in whatever color desired by our customers. However, we recommend our customers not to paint their switchboard at all, as we use galvanised Aluzinc. The composition of this coating makes the stainless steel up to an astounding six times more resistant to corrosion than standard galvanised metals. Therefore, with a Logstrup switchboard or modular enclosure system, you do not need to use paint as protection.

Do you bend and punch your own copper?

Yes. We offer our customers complete copper parts (bended and punched) from our automated copper machine. This enables us to reuse the scrap copper, making sure nothing is wasted, and at the same time our customers do not have to pay for and handle leftover copper parts.

Where can I find your tests and approvals?

You can find all of our tests and approvals under downloads which you find under resources. Please note that you need to have a user to gain access to all of our downloadables. You can create a user here.
